Born on may 7th 1966 in the north of The Netherlands: Groningen.
Hobbies: synchronised swimming, my work as communication trainer and coach, dancing Salsa and Zouk, theatre, swimming and jogging.

Synchronised Swimming Experience

My experience in Synchro exists of 25 years for multiple clubs and the Dutch Federation (KNZB). In 1983 I founded my own synchronised swimming department with 50 athletes and 12 to 15 trainers. Our club performed in the top of The Netherlands with multiple athletes in both the junior and senior National Team. It was an enriching phase and experience in my life.

Guest trainer jobs:

I worked for several clubs in multiple countries during training camps. I supported the French training camps of Virgine Didieu and Bérengère Capdevielle. I also coached in Greece for the Synchro club Arion in Athens, the Swiss club Bülach (preparation for Swiss Open) and coached twice for the Belgian team KVO during their summer training camps.
In The Netherlands I coached for HZPC (Heerenveen), District I North and the club ZCNF ‘34 (I created choreographies) and organised clinics/workshops for synchro trainers. Prior to the World Championships in Rome I coached and choreographed the solo of both Natalia Braams from club Aquarijn (Nieuwegein) and Igna Vermeulen (club Brunssum Limburg), Bibi Verberk (Cadans) and Jaylan Dursun all national team swimmers.

Remarkable and unforgettable moments in Synchro:

with the junior team from my home town club several peaks over a period of 2 years with a fantastic team of coaches with results: twice bronze for team in National Junior Championships. Tough work with both wonderful and challenging moments.
appointment as National Team Coach Seniors
invitation as Head Coach for De Dolfijn in 1991 in Amsterdam
appointment assistant coach National Team Seniors
coaching duet Ingrid Tunderman and Petra Guyt after which both were elected for the National Team.
coaching special team (Platform) with 4 synchro swimmers and an intensive training program of 20 hours a week
closure, reopening and finally the sad and definitive closure of Swimming pool Het Nieuwland in Dieren.
Fusion under inspiring leadership of our president Marriët Bakker, her fight against cancer, in vain
Royal Medal of Honour in 2003 for Co-head Coach/trainer/judge Hilly van Lingen-Wagena after her 25 years of service for the club
a synchronised swimmer trying 13 times for her junior diploma. How to deal with such a situation as her coach? A tough and sad situation but also a great challenge.
